PRECISION OPTICAL ANNOUNCES ITS EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH FOR SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER

Precision Optical is pleased to announce its employees of the month for September and October of 2013.

John Hllywa was Precision Optical’s employee of the month for September.  John first began his career in optics working for Tom Bialek at Prisms Unlimited in 1981.  He began in shaping but has expanded his expertise into virtually all aspects of optics manufacturing, including hand correction, grinding, and polishing of plano, spherical, and cylindrical optics.  In 2009, we welcomed John to the Precision Optical family.  His attitude, work ethic, and genuine character have been warmly received by all at Precision Optical.  He is our optical milling supervisor, and a flat out “go-to-guy” when it comes to optical fabrication.  He’s not afraid to work on anything!  John and his wife Cindi have two daughters, ages 24 and 18.  The eldest is a recent college graduate, and the youngest is a recent high school graduate.  Cindi and John donate their available time at church charity groups, where they cook meals for the needy.  John’s willingness to help in every way, is clearly noticeable while at work, or on his own free time.

Sao Lo and Dou Thao (Yeng) are the employees of the month for October, and comprise one of our elite precision optical polishing teams.  The combination of these two “master” level opticians is capable of providing astonishing yields, on extremely challenging tightly toleranced prisms. Yeng began working in optics at Pyramid Optical from 1978 thru 1988.  From there, he worked at Perkin/Elmer until 1994.  Yeng has worked for Precision Optical in our polishing department since 1994.  His partner Sao also began his optical career working at Pyramid Optical in 1979.  He joined Precision Optical in 1984, and has been with us ever since.  He is one of Precision Optical’s longest tenured employees, hitting the 30 year mark in June of 2014.  Sao and Yeng have a combined 65 years career dedicated to optical polishing.  They both exhibit polishing experience — comparable to very few others in the industry.  Yeng and his wife Kia live in Garden Grove and have 5 children, 4 girls and 1 boy.  Sao and his wife Ka Ly live in Costa Mesa and have 4 children, 3 girls and 1 boy.
