Precision Optical (The Prism Specialists) to Exhibit at SPIE Photonics West 2025 in San Francisco, CA

With 2025 upon us, Precision Optical embarks on it’s 66th year providing custom optical solutions to our customers around the world. Despite a relatively flat industry over the past couple of years, Precision Optical has continued to allocate substantial capital investments towards large optics manufacturing, large aperture interferometry and thin film coating deposition which will continue to bring in new opportunities to help spur business development. We look forward to a hopeful year throughout our industry and are poised for growth in various sectors.

Photonics West has been known to provide a reliable outlook for the upcoming calendar year. We look forward to meeting with industry colleagues and discussing mutually beneficial new and upcoming projects.

Our expertise has always been the custom prism. Throughout every year we receive RFQ’s for prismatic geometries and configurations we have never previously seen that continue to push the threshold of optical manufacturing. And we expect this year to be no different in that regard. When combined with custom thin film coatings and assembly integration, Precision Optical can provide full turn-key solutions for custom opto-mechanical assemblies. While we are known for being predominately a UV-NIR shop, we also entertain work with IR materials such CaF2, Si, ZnSe & Ge.

On the horizon we are getting closer to becoming ISO 17025 certified for the calibration of flat surface forms (i.e. optical flats) and for small angles (i.e. angular standards). This shall increase our metrology services business sector and provide a much needed service for the optics community; where calibration traceability is continually becoming more imperative. A critical aspect of our calibration services will be utilizing our current dynamic 600mm aperture path-matching interferometry with 3-flat testing capability along with our comprehensive angular inspection capabilities using both precision laser interferometers and goniometers. These capabilities will continue to allow us to push the threshold of  manufacturing capability via ultra-precision metrology.
