Precision Optical is excited about exhibiting in San Diego at SPIE Optics + Photonics 2019,  where the latest research in optical engineering and applications, nanotechnology, sustainable energy, and organic photonics will be presented. Precision Optical will be exhibiting at our 10’ x 10’ booth, Booth 720, from Tuesday, 8/13/19, through Thursday, 8/15/19 at the San Diego Convention Center.  

ORLANDO, Fla., May, 28, 2019 Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) recognized 27 small business suppliers that made exemplary contributions to its Missiles and Fire Control business area’s products and services in 2018.  Precision Optical received an award for their exemplary work to help Lockheed Martin deliver crucial missions to our customers.

Precision Optical is pleased to be exhibiting at this year’s SPIE Defense and Commercial Sensing Conference in Baltimore, Maryland, at the Baltimore Convention Center.  Precision Optical will be exhibiting our 10’ x 10’ booth, Booth 850, from Tuesday, 4/16/19, through Thursday, 4/18/19.  We will be showcasing many of our optical component products, and we look forward to meeting with folks to discuss their custom optical system and component requirements within the defense and commercial sensing markets. 

In an ongoing effort to supply the optics and photonics industry with qualified technicians, Precision Optical is now in its fifth year of partnership with Irvine Valley College’s Laser Technology Program. LASR225 had active enrollment in Fall 2018 with 24 students!  Like previous years, Precision Optical offered classes in optical cutting & shaping, fine grinding & polishing, and quality assurance.

On March 14th, 2018 Precision Optical was honored to host Professor Scott P. Carney, the Director of the Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester and Director of Business Advancement Suzanne DeMers for a visit at our Costa Mesa facility. During their visit, Precision Optical was given a firsthand account of the new developments happening at the institute, as well as an introduction to the school’s Industrial Affiliates program. Precision Optical’s personal also introduced the company to the Rochester team, and discussed possible collaborations opportunities, including support for Precision Optical’s educational efforts.
