Precision Optical’s Employee of the Month for the month of July is Thuy Le. Thuy has been with Precision Optical since 2006. Thuy works in our coating department where she expertly prepares our precision optics for thin film coating deposition. Our Employee of the Month for August is Jennifer Sanchez. Jennifer has worked in Precision Optical’s Quality Control Department since 2007, where she administers the processing of all quality-associated documentation, including certificates of compliance, inspections reports, and quality records.

On Friday, May 24, Precision Optical and the ELOEP hosted a visit from McFadden Middle School AVID 7th and 8th grade students. The students received an in-depth presentation about physics, optics & photonics, and optics fabrication.

Nick Lambert, Precision Optical’s V.P. of Engineering, visited Ensign Intermediate School on May 17 to introduce AVID seventh and eight grade students to the fields of electromagnetism, optics, and photonics.

This month Precision Optical had a visit from long-time friend and colleague in the industry Ty Guernsey. She was accompanied by Sales Engineer and 20-year employee Mike Milbrett .

High school seniors from the Waldorf School of Orange County recently visited Precision Optical for a tour of our facility. The students are studying optics, so the visit provided them with an opportunity to see real-world applications of the scientific principles they have been introduced to in school.

The Founders’ Award is given yearly to the employee who has most exemplified the best of Precision Optical over the past year. The winner is chosen by his or her fellow employees. The winner of the 2012 Founders’ Award is Adrian Hoyle.

In December of 2011, Precision Optical was awarded the prestigious World Class Supplier Award from Northrop Grumman. Out of thousands of Northrop Grumman suppliers, Precision Optical was the only optics supplier to receive the award.
